Meeting Minutes for April 2022

Meeting minutes for April 8, 2022:

9 members present

Call to order: Cory VE6COR at 8:11 pm.

Treasurers Report:  $8,917.97 in the bank.

Repeater Committee: Site looked over, solar panels are clean and batteries tested and filled.

Field Day: plans are being made.

 

Round Table:

Blair VE6AGH – Got news a radio club in the U.S. had lots of their funds stolen. Going to flea market.

Renze VE6DC – Joined West Coast contest on 15 meters. His 80 meter antenna is damaged. Will be working on it this weekend.

Stan VE6SYS  – Just back from Yuma. Will be going to flea market.

Barry VE6BGR  – Still doing inventory. Making plans for the communications trailer.

Tom M. VE6TRM – Stuck at home for 2 weeks. Got Covid after he returned home from Egypt.

Norm VE6NFW  – High winds damaged his antenna. Going to flea market, and working on old trunk.

Cory VE6COR – Working on making contacts, 20 watts on 10 meters using a loop antenna.

Tom B VE6ARG – Doing an article on making antennas.

Calgary Amateur Radio Association – CARA 2022 Flea Market

 

When:  09 Apr 2022 – 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

 

Location:  Eastside City Church, 1320 Abbeydale Drive SE, Calgary

 

Subject to AHS Covid restrictions, CARA’s 2022 flea market is on!  Be prepared to wear a mask if requested.

 

Venue: Eastside City Church, 1320 Abbeydale Drive SE, Calgary.

 

Door open to vendors at 9 AM; doors open to shoppers at 10 AM.

–  additional information

– to reserve a selling table in advance

– to volunteer to set up & take down tables, be a door greeter, and sell tickets.  Volunteers get free general admission to the sale.

 

At the door, we will be accepting funds for the following:

– general admission tickets for shoppers and sellers $5

– table rentals for sellers: individuals & retailers $10 / table

– tables for HAM clubs (no sales allowed) $0

– 50/50 tickets  $2 ea or 3/$5

* note that table renters must still pay individual general admissions

 

Food trucks outside in parking lot.

CARA Flea market held in conjunction with CARA annual Learning Conference at same time and same building.  Separate registration and fee is required.

Interference ,finds out the antenna was placed over the mechanical

Norm VE6NFW Reorganizing his shack 12 volt lights learning CW

February Meeting for the SAARC

                        Renze VE6DC Needs to pull his tower down for repairs .Work keeps

                        Him busy for now no time to work on his tower.

 

                        Perry VE6NX lost his Audio when he was trying to talk to us.
